Vladimir Zhurkin is a well-known Russian drummer.
Born in Moscow in 1962, he began studying music at age three and playing drums at age eight.
After graduating from music school, Vladimir joined the Oleg Lunstrem Jazz Orchestra where he now is a soloist. Among his many awards and accomplishments are: recipient of The Diploma for Achievements in Jazz Education by IAJA in Washington, D.C. in 1991; selection as a Merited Artist of Russia by the order of The President of the Russian Federation in 2001; inclusion in the Russian Encyclopia Reference Book, "Jazz XX Century", and participant in the prestigious "Zidjian Day and Yamaha Day".
He plays both the YAMAHA Drums and Zildjian Cymbals.
